A specialist in web product strategy, software development, and driving online businesses growth, Rick Treese has over 25 years of Technology and Tech Leadership experience focused in the Internet, Media, and Finance industries.

He currently serves as EVP and Chief Technology Officer at WebMD.

Prior to this, Rick has a combined 12 years of experience as a Chief Technology Officer in both the Media and Finance spaces, with a track record of success leading large digital/Internet initiatives and managing complex enterprise technology environments. Leading up to this, Rick spent eight years at Goldman Sachs, of which five years was as Vice President responsible for all software within the Equity Research Division.

Rick is co-author of CTO Leadership Strategies, published by Aspatore Books, and is a frequent speaker at industry events. He holds a BS in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University.

EVP and Chief Technology Officer
Rick Treese is WebMD's Chief Technology Officer and has served in this position since June 2015. Rick is responsible for WebMD's Technology strategy and delivery, which includes the Engineering effort for WebMD.com, Medscape.com, and the company's portfolio of award-winning mobile apps. Each month these products drive an average of 1.4 billion page views to 210 million unique users.

He also is responsible for the WebMD's technology infrastructure and operations efforts. Prior to becoming Chief Technology Officer, Rick was Senior Vice President of Engineering and Innovation, where he led the teams responsible for the development of WebMD's portfolio of consumer- and physician-focused products.

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
TheMarkets.com was partly owned by the world's top nine investment banks and provided software and data solutions to the Institutional Investment world. The company was sold to Standard and Poors in 2010 for $310 million.

As Chief Technology Officer, Rick led all technology initiatives, which included driving the development and innovation of the company's entire suite of platforms for the investment community. He successfully supported TheMarkets.com's explosive growth by cultivating an agile and high-performing technology organization.

VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Rick was appointed Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Advanstar Communications following two years as the Chief Technology Officer of the company's dot.com effort.

While at Advanstar, Rick was responsible for creating the technology, tools and processes that drove the company's hundreds of Digital Media products. He also successfully upgraded and transformed the company's internal systems by modernizing its software platforms, enterprise hardware, and network infrastructure. 


Goldman, Sachs & Co    <link>
VICE PRESIDENT, TECHNOLOGY, EQUITY RESEARCH DIVISION
Rick was responsible for leading a global team of engineers in the development and integration of all software initiatives for Goldman's Equity Research Division internationally. Rick and his team wrote and managed a full portfolio of software that was used heavily by Goldman's Equity Research group across the globe. Functionality covered everything from full Content Management Systems with integrated market data and automated handling of real-time distribution, down to custom faxing and contact management applications.

His work included the build of the first Equity Research digital authoring/workflow/delivery system at Goldman Sachs, which was created from the ground up in his first couple of years.
